Norwegian food, nature and cultural heritage.
The richness of Norwegian nature has provided our people with great food treasures. Throughout history making Norwegian products such as white and brown goats cheese, cured meats and fish has been necessary for survival, and protecting the old ways is such an important mission.
As we go on walks or herding sheep, we aim to teach visitors about Norwegian food and heritage to keep our treasures and traditions alive in a world spinning faster and faster.

About “Kultur på fatet”, NORWEGIAN FOOD AND ANKA
LAILA KVELLESTAD
Passionate about Norwegian food culture and history, our hostess, Laila knows the Aurland area like the inside of her pocket. As one of the first female rangers in Norway, she has been deeply connected to the land and nature in Aurland since childhood, and has a deep felt love for the wild reindeer in the area. Local knowledge, fairytales and food culture. Laila is your go-to guide.
Lailas mission is protecting the Norwegian food culture history, and the very roots of Norwegian history, living on impossibly remote summer farms and in one with nature.
